Fort Riley, "America's War Fighting Center," is known for its excellent training, abundant recreational opportunities, rich history, and tremendous relations with surrounding communities.

Fort Riley offers a wide range of leisure activities. Golfing, bowling, tennis, and roller skating are just a few of the activities available on the installation.

Milford Lake is the largest lake in Kansas and located just four miles northwest of Junction City. Several miles northeast of Fort Riley is Tuttle Creek Lake. Both lakes offer a wide range of fishing, boating, water-skiing, swimming, hunting, camping, and outdoor sports.

Craft activities include a woodshop, ceramic studio, computer lab and a matting and framing studio. There are also facilities for making stained glass, sewing, quilting, basket weaving and leather products.

There are five fitness centers on the installation. They offer racquetball, weightlifting, basketball, volleyball, boxing, wrestling and aerobic classes.

Fort Riley Army Education Center offers soldiers, family members, Department of the Army Civilians, ROTC cadets, and veterans a variety of educational and training programs. Programs are offered to help soldiers with college, Leadership Development, Basic Skills, Languages, and military related skills.
